Description
Bastones are expensive to ship individually, so we offer them in packs. One box, more sticks, a better price per stick.
The bastón de mulita is the traditional cane of the Danza de los Viejitos. Its curved Y-shaped handle, called the mulita, is named for its resemblance to a mule’s head, a nod to the farm life of rural Michoacán. On stage it does more than support the viejito. Dancers strike it against the floor to mark the rhythm of every step.
Dancer to dancer: this is the real deal, handmade by artisans in Michoacán, where the dance was born. If you’re dancing the Danza de los Viejitos, you need this bastón.
