Folkicks was founded by Rafael Valero, a Folklórico dancer of 11 years, who experienced firsthand how difficult it was to find high-quality, well-fitting dance shoes. Many stores had limited stock, high shipping costs, or poor customer service, making it frustrating for dancers to get what they needed.

With a background in eCommerce and experience working in Silicon Valley, Rafael set out to create a better solution—one that not only provides dancers with the best footwear but also supports the artisans in Mexico who craft them. What started in a bedroom-turned-warehouse has grown into Folkicks, a trusted brand for Folklórico dancers across the U.S.
